Breeds of Rabbit

World has now 38 recognized and well established breeds and 87 varieties. Some are fur or wool type and the others meat type. North Eastern India is having a potential rabbit meat market. There is a well-organized Rabbit Research Farm under Animal Production Division of ICAR, Barapani, Meghalaya.
