Breeds of Broiler

Broilers are birds resulting from crossing various breeds for increased body weight, growth rate and improved feed conversion efficiency and must be maintained at a reasonable level of egg production. A good table (meat type) strain is mated to a female from a good laying strain and the resulting pullets are mated to a male from a good quality table strain to produce the broiler bird.
